AI is an important topic right now for everyone. Whether you’re a stay at home parent or running a multinational business, you probably have questions about AI. Among others, here are some of the most important:
- Is it safe?
- Can I trust it with my personal or business data?
- What should I look for when purchasing AI capabilities?
Answering these types of questions starts with understanding. The best way to understand is to get your hands dirty. In this workshop, we will understand the basic components of an AI agent by building it step by step. You’ll learn what options there are for each of the key components and what are the tradeoffs in terms of performance, privacy, and trust.
The format
The format of the workshop is the following:
- You perform the setup on your own time before the workshop. You must show up with the setup completed.
- There will be ~20 minutes of lecture explaining the 3 key components of an AI agent.
- There will be ~2.5 hours of hands on building of each of these 3 key components.
The setup
- A laptop you can install software on, and its charger.
- Claude Code set up before the day. The Agent Dev kit walks you through it, including a near.ai key for the models your agent will call. Plan an hour for this; your confirmation email has the link.
